Surprise Halloween Infection

With the arrival of the first members, the network is kindly allowing them to slowly adjust. Enjoy a peaceful October where absolutely nothing weird will happen.

If only it was that easy. On October 20, an unexpected infection seeps into the network, tainting any world connected. Participating characters will wake up and either find them in costume or find a costume in their room. When worn, these costumes will alter the mission of anyone wearing them. Did a good guy get a hockey mask and machete? Guess they'll have to kill people. Did a bad guy get a doctor's outfit? It's now his life's mission to save everyone.

This is an unplanned infection to celebrate the start of the game. It will run from 10/20/20 through 10/27/2020 but of course, you're always welcome to backtag. Players are also free to use this for a plotting post.

What costumes are allowed?

The sky is the limit. It doesn't have to be from your character's world.

Do they come with skills/knowledge/power?

They do. Doctors are suddenly medical experts, vampires can turn into bats. We realize that lore can change from monster to monster but as it's only temporary, feel free to go with the lore you want for both strengths and weaknesses.

How powerful does their new mission become?

Also up to you. Want it to consume their life? It does. Want to just kind of go with the costume? Also fine.

Do I have to have a costume?

Nope. All events are opt-in.

Do I have to be in costume for all 7 days?

Still nope. As long or short as you want, but 7 days is the max.

What happens at the end of the event?

The costumes disappear and all characters revert back to normal.
